A candidate may score above a previous written cut-off while solving a familiar paper at home, yet struggle with an unfamiliar test under strict timing. Another candidate may remain below an old cut-off despite showing steady improvement in accuracy and question selection.

Neither result should be interpreted in isolation.

Previous cut-offs provide historical context. Question papers provide evidence of what you can currently do. Used together, they help you set a realistic score target and identify the work needed to reach it.

Understand Which NDA Cut-Off You Are Looking At

The first step is separating the written cut-off from the final selection cut-off.

The written examination contains Mathematics and the General Ability Test, carrying a combined 900 marks. Candidates who meet the applicable qualifying requirements and aggregate cut-off can move forward in the selection process.

During the first week, the candidate analyses two previous papers and discovers that most lost Mathematics marks come from trigonometry and lengthy coordinate-geometry methods. GAT losses are concentrated in English vocabulary and Geography.

The revision plan becomes specific:

  • Two sessions for trigonometry
  • One coordinate-geometry speed session
  • Daily vocabulary retrieval
  • Two Geography revision blocks
  • One short subject test

At the end of the week, the candidate attempts focused tests. The second week ends with a fresh full-length mock.
